Privacy policy
What we collect, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do about it. In plain English, because a policy nobody can read protects nobody.

Who we are
The Mobility Centre (“we”, “us”) is a mobility equipment retailer and service centre at Unit 7, Broadmead Business Park, Broadmead Rd, Stewartby, Bedford MK43 9NX. We are the data controller for the information described here.
To ask anything about this policy, or to make any of the requests below, email mobilitycentre@hotmail.co.uk or call 01234 267393.
What we collect, and why
When you use the call-back form
The form on our Visit Us page asks for your name and phone number, and optionally your email address, what your enquiry is about, the model you are interested in, when you would like to be called, and anything else you want to tell us.
We use it for one thing: to call or email you back about that enquiry. The lawful basis is legitimate interests — you asked us to get in touch, and replying is what you would reasonably expect. We do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not share your details with anyone for marketing.
When you call or email us
We keep what you tell us so we can answer, quote, order parts, book a service or arrange a demonstration. If you buy from us or we service your equipment, we keep a record of the work — partly to look after you next time, and partly because we have to for tax and consumer-law reasons (a legal obligation).
When you simply browse the site
Our hosting provider records standard server information — IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time — to keep the site running and secure. We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking of any kind, and we do not build a profile of you.
Health information
Mobility equipment is bought for a reason, so you may end up telling us something about your health or a disability. That is a special category of personal data and we treat it accordingly: we only use it to advise you properly and supply the right equipment, we only tell the people who need to know in order to do that, and we never use it for marketing. You are never obliged to tell us anything you would rather not.
Who we share it with
- Our website host and email provider, who process data on our instructions in order to run the site and deliver form submissions to us.
- The Motability Scheme, where you ask us to handle a Motability application on your behalf.
- Manufacturers or insurers, where that is needed for a warranty claim, a part order or an insurance repair you have asked us to deal with.
- HMRC and other authorities, where the law requires it.
We do not sell your personal information to anyone. Ever.
How long we keep it
To be confirmed by the business. Enquiries that do not lead to a sale should be deleted after a set period, and sales and service records are normally kept for six years to meet tax and consumer-law requirements. Tell us the periods you actually work to and we will state them here — we have not invented a number.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the information we hold about you;
- correct anything that is wrong;
- delete it, where we do not have a legal reason to keep it;
- restrict or object to how we use it;
- transfer it to someone else, where that applies.
There is no charge, and we will reply within one month. Just call or email us using the details at the top.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would rather you told us first so we can put it right.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies of its own and uses no tracking. The only cookies that can be set are Google’s, if you choose to load the map on our Visit Us page — and it does not load unless you do. See our cookie policy for the detail, including how to change your mind.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. If the change is significant we will ask for your consent again where we need it.
